Just started to notice my simulators (bolt on style P series GM 5-lug frt and 10-lug rear)making a chirping noise. I made sure they are tight. And they are on center. They fit great, but it is the fronts that are making a chirping sound as they rotate at slow speeds.I remember as a kid riding in my dads 64 Rambler 770 Classic making this same noise. Anyone apply a foam backed weather strip or something to prevent the sound vibrations or micro rubs that create this?

My simulators do have foam pads at three locations around the perimeter, but I don't know if that was factory or previous owner installed.

I had a little run in with my fence at home that required I get a new simulator. The new simulator came with a piece foam (self stick on one side) around the perimeter of the simulator. This was not on the old simulator and there was a noise. No noise now. I put it on the other wheel as well.

Had the same noise on mine, thought it was a caliper hanging up on the brakes. Pulled the simulators off, no noise. Used door weatherstripping on covers and it stopped.

Thanks guys, one thing I hate is squeaks and rattles. Today coming home from a small trip, I just about pulled them off the front!!!
i will install some foam backed tape. Just wanted to get some ideas if others had the same.

We had the same problem, about drove me crazy. What I did was slit one side of clear tubing maybe 1/4" ID and place it over the edge of the simulator in 3 or 4 places. Each piece about 2" long and the noise was gone.
