I don’t think I have ever had a level camp site! I have those orange interlocking blocks to put under the tires to help level from side to side. I have 6x6 to put under the power jack on the front. And I have 2x6 blocks that I use to make the table some what level so that the coffee doesn’t spill out.

I remember one site that I put block under the hitch before unhitching and when the hitch was cranked all the way up I still wasn’t level, I have to use the stabilizers to hold the HTT (briefly) so I could crank the hitch up and add more blocks so I could finally get level. I remember one time putting a big rock near the step because the side was up high and the step was too far off the ground for the kids.

I have been doing this all wrong! I didn’t know camp sites were supposed to be level.

QUICK everyone stop camping at places where the sites aren’t level, this will make it easier for me to get a reservation!

You're revered Grandmother must've been from West Virginia? I swear those county road crews were on the "shine" when they blasted them roads out of the mountains.

I recall once a few years back being in a WVa state "resort". The CG had recently been paved (or repaved), with what appeared to be a huge, thick layer of asphalt. But precious few of the sites were anywhere near level. My rig's only 11 1/2' WB, but I had to use all the Lynx blocks I had along... a full set + four from the left-behind other set that I wish't I'da brung all of. Dam', I'm sure drainage is nice, but I near needed a stepladder to get to my entrance step! A tall dawg could'a strolled under my rig without gettin' his back greasy.....

In many of the older parks, the sites were once tent pads, later modified for travel trailer, etc. Some are unlevel for drainage (land as well as sewer lines).

Well, it took me until this afternoon to get back on the internet and read the various responses. Nearly everyone missed my point.
And perhaps I wasn't clear enough.
1st, I know that blocks can help level an rv.
2ND, I know that the Nat'l and State parks try to keep things as close back to nature as possible.
3rd, My observations are primarily at private campgrounds, and campgrounds that have nice facilities and patios and gravel or paved pads to park on.
So parks that take the time to provide nice sites could just as easy, provide a much more level place to park. I know there has to be a bit of drainage and that probably varies with location.
Tonight we're in Moab at a somewhat less than pristine private park but more than adequate and as luck would have it......every space I see is nice an level. Even the 5ers don't have a block under a tire to level. So it can be done.....
Again, my query is more of a "wonder why they do this" thing than a "how do I cope with this" kinda thing.

It is not necessary for a site to be unlevel for drainage. Like a roadway, the pavement can be slightly higher along the centerline so it drains to the sides. Last weekend I stayed at a lovely state park campground with 100 paved sites that clearly had paid no attention to side-to-side leveling, an unnecessary nuisance. We suspect that campground designers are just oblivious to the hassles they're creating.

I don't mind unlevel rv parks and sites as long as I am at the high end when 6 inches of run occurs in less than 3 hours.
