there is a small gap between campers sidewalls (in the bed) and the wheel housings. A couple of times it happend on rough roads or crossing swells (when driving very slowly !) that the camper slipped from one side to the other, regardless rhino lining and good fixed fastguns. What are you remedy against slipping ?? Whazoo and Seldomseensmith, Nedrierson78 f.e., you often go offroad with your popup TC, dit it happened to you, too ???
I imagine, that with to pieces of wood into the gaps one could avoid slipping. Thanks for advices.

My Happijac FM system has front bumpers on the front of the truck bed that minimize right/left movement. Once tied down, the front "locks in against the bed and prevents right to left movement against the rears. If I load slighly crooked, the bumpers/tie downs have a self aligning effect as I drive down the road. On my first truck, I had rear guides also. I did not install these on the current truck and have not experienced any rear camper shifting other than the self aligning I previously mentioned.

Even with lined truck boxes, the still recommend a good rubber mat for the bed.

Even with the bed mat, the first couple times I hauled mine, it always shifted to the right. So, to make sure it gets centered during loading and doesn't shift to the right afterwards, I added a piece of 1" (actual dim) of wood to the right side of the camper the length of the wheel well. The front end was cut at a 60* angle to help it push the camper over without messing up the bed liner.

So far, the camper hasn't shifted since then. Including this last trip of 16 miles up/down on a gravel road where I even used 4lo a couple of times to go over the rough spots.

Personally, I just ignore it. I have never had any problems as a result of the TC moving side to side in the truck bed. You could put a 2x4 by the wheel wells, but I really do not see the need.

Unless it is banging the wheel wells like a hammer, why worry about it.

Flaxi,
I had that problem and fixed it with a set of Lance camper guides. They are traingular shaped metal brackets that are maybe an inch (26mm) wider than the camper bottom. Even if my tie down brackets are off, there is no side to side slip of the camper box. You lower the camper into postion and the guides, well....guide the box into position. I would get them again. You're a long way from Lancaster, CA, USA, so it might be easier to make a set. I'll try to post up a photo of them as your guide.
regards as always, jefe
