I have had good luck with Carlisle Load Range E tires. We have them on both of our race car trailers now. They have proven to hold up much better than the Goodyear and Maxxis tires we previously had.

Brian I do not think you get the picture here. It is the brand and country of orgin that counts and NOT the Specs for any tire that matters.

I did alot of research on the carlisle tires and the concensus seems to be that the 14" tires have the problems along with 15" load range "C" tires.

"I want to go to 16" wheels w/LTs"

Stick with your original plan. That's my .02

This is a frequently debated issue around here. Ask yourself these questions.
How many reports of ST tire failure?
How many reports of LT failure after conversion from ST?
Last, how many people with factory LT tires on a heavy trailer "upgraded" to ST tires?

Clearly moving up to load range "D" tires for RV use canside step a lot of tire problems for a lot of people. I have the "C" rated but not for an RV application. Others can wear out C rated tires without issue on their RV's. There is not one tire that only works well for RV owners. That is why the replies are all over the board. Each CAN BE correct from their personal experiences with a certain brand or load range of tire.
