I want to go to 16" wheels w/LTs and the tire shop thinks I should try the Carlyle Es. Has anyone tried them? I've already gone from towmaster Cs to Ds and they still fly apart when they still look good. The salesman didn't know where tha Carlyle Es are made but he thinks they are better than my towmaster Ds. Craig

They are made in China. Do a search for Carlisle tires. Try Maxxis, they are not made in China.

Moving from a D to E load rated tire from either company will be a step in the right direction for sure.

Beware of Carlisle tires....They are made only for lawn carts...Wouldn't put them on anything else

Oh my.
There are better ST tires out here than a Carlisle trailer tires. Carlisle trailer tire lead all tire complaints on the NHTSA tire complaint web. I would choose a better tire system than a Carlisle or any other made in china tire.

The best tire upgrade is going to a 16" LT if they have the capacity your axles require.

I just went from 15 inch ST tires to 16 inch LT tires. I'm very glad I did. I wouldn't put Carlisle on my wheel barrel.

Lots of Carlisle tires on the road with thousands upon thousands of trouble free miles. I wore my set of USA made Carlises to the treadwear indicators.

While you are replacing tires it may be a good time to do some investigative work and see if there isn't something causing your tire problems to prevent them in the future.

RandACampin,

"Lots of Carlisle tires on the road with thousands upon thousands of trouble free miles" Where is the data to back this statement up? All indians don't walk single file just because the one you saw did!

I'm not a fan of ANY Chinese tires, it is your choice.

BUT

One important point. If you change the load rating of your tires, and fully inflate them, please BE SURE YOUR WHEELS ARE RATED FOR THE NEW PRESSURE!!!

Running full pressure in LR E tire is a SIXTY PERCENT OVERLOAD on a LR C wheel. Not the safest thing to do.
