You never mentioned whether or not you had additional components than just the tie downs. Happijac makes what I consider to be an excellent for small to mid size camper Frame Mount Tie down system. Here's a link to the instructions: http://happijac.com/pdfs/ft-ut9.pdf
Do you have this or an older version?
PS Make sure you have the tie downs with the springs in them in the front.

I don't think my turnbuckles have springs in them. At least they don't feel springy. So is there no kinda spring you can get to go inbetween the turnbuckle and tie down?

Happijac has been putting springs in their front turnbuckles for a Loooong time now. Do you have a front and a rear set (you are showing a rear one, the fronts have longer tubes).
To answer your specific question, I do not know of any specific aftermarket part that supplies springs for this purpose.

I have a 04 Dodge QC long bed with a Lance 815. My truck has the happijac tiedowns inbetween the cab and bed and the button tiedowns on the bumper.
My two longer turnbuckles for the back are two long and the front ones are too short. These came with the camper used. Do I take apart the longer turnbuckles and cut the threaded bolt? Do I use a chain with the front one to make it longer?
Is some sort of spring supposed to be used on the front turnbuckles or is it really needed?

If you are talking about an external spring here, to go around the long threaded section, then I have to ask what good that would do? The spring inside the compression cylinder is what is doing all the work.
Do your tie-downs not have that?
I use an identical setup; they are Happy-jack brand tie-downs. They are seam-welded on both ends; unless your compression cylinders have been modified at some point, as in, someone took a grinder to the welded seal at one or both ends then removed all the internal springs, yours should have an internal spring also.
As I see it, an external spring that would slide over the threaded turnbuckle would only make turning the cylinder by hand (to tighten the camper down) even harder; it's not going to tighten your camper down as good as any internal spring.
Like the one guy said, you can cut the threaded bolt section, just make sure you thread on a nut or two first to chase the cut threads after you cut them.
And for the short ones, just get a couple longer threaded sections. An extra link or three of chain to lengthen is ok, but it's probably best not to use them if you don't have to. Remember....Safety First.
And btw....rubber mat's in the bed are mainly to protect the bed of your truck. You have to tighten the camper down slightly more to snug it up if you are using a rubber mat.
