Yes they were covered. I am going to try a different controller but not until the first week in July. Individual test of the panels seem to reveal they are fine and meet all the open circuit and short circuit specifications. The controller I am going to try is a MPPT controller. I'll update at that time. I may buy a solar meter that Golden_HVAC(thanks)suggested cuz I like gadgets and I just installed 8.2KW solar on my stick house.
