Thanks for sharing that, KB.

How was it too aggressive ? It was still too aggressive if you turned the gain down ?

Now I am really looking for a Brakesmart.

Too aggressive means when I depress the brake peddle the trailer is over braking and jerking the truck. To me a perfect truck/Rv braking is when the rig stops with the same feel as the truck only, but the trailer stops just a hair before the truck without the jerking. It took awhile but that is what I have now.

We got our Brake Smart 5 years ago. The first time we took it on the road we felt as if our 5er was pushing us forward when we applied the brakes. Our combined weight is about 22,000 lbs. We read the manual and adjusted the "initial brake intensity" and the "power factor" two clicks each. We haven't touched a thing since!

Like KB says, there is no difference with or without the RV attached. The best part is when the light changes before we come to a complete stop. With the old controller, taking our foot off the brake caused a big thump, perfectly smoooooth with the Brake Smart!
