My Honda EU2000 will not run my A/C, or Microwave, or Cuisinart Toaster oven. It does run the coffee pot and TV at the same time. And it fires the fridge, furnace and the water heater.

Not sure but I think I read the Honda is 2000 watt surge and 1600 watt continuous. Yamaha on the other hand is 2400 surge and 2000 continuous.

My Honda 2000 will power my microwave and hair dryer (not together, I presume). I haven't tried running the water heater on the generator, but I don't think that is a particularly sound thing to do -- keep it on propane.

So, the next obvious question - What generators are made in America?
Champion? Nope, imported.
AllPower? Nope, imported.
Honeywell? Nope, imported.

The person who wants to buy our Honeywell wants to use it for a 13.5 k AC unit for his utility trailer.

The HW2000i will start the 13.5k AC, but not without playing around with getting it up to rated power and switching in the compressor, ie, start the fan (300 watts), kick the 1600 watt hair dryer on, and switch off the hair dryer and switch on the compressor at the same time. Once it's running it pulls about 1400 watts. All's good until the cycle.

Wonder how it would do with a 9800 btu polar cub...
