Everybody's different and, as your life situation changes, your needs & wants also change. In our 47 years together, DW & I have had every type of rv there is to have EXCEPT no motorhomes. We also tented for years, slept under a topper on a pickup, in a van, and in the back of station wagons (with two small kids). There's no one fits everybody everything answer.

3rd TT in 3 years and 2nd TV. I hope this is the last TT, but I know when the older 3 are off to college, the military or their own paths we will get a smaller one to go see the country.

The situations change and therefore the "right camper or RV" changes. We are on our 3rd, the 1st two served us well and the 3rd one is just right ..... at least for now and the foreseeable future. We've had a VW Campmobile with the poptop, and it was what I drove daily. We also had a Coleman PU, that we enjoyed a great deal.

I'm glad I'm not alone! We started out with a 19 footer (bad decision-way too small), then a 24 footer(should have kept it longer), then a 30 footer (bad decision-lemon), then a 34 ft. 5ver with bunkroom, then a pup (WHAT were we thinking? ), now we have our Passport 285RL. This is all since 1998. We've made some bad decisions, that we wouldn't have made if we'd thought about them more, but we live and learn...

We started years ago with a tent trailer for the kids, then we bought a 27' Jayco Jay Flight just for my wife and I and the grandkids. After 5 years we have upgraded to 31' Jayco with a slide and more amenities. Tow it with a Ford Expedition and we took our first trip last week to PA. and loved it. I'd like to say it will be are last,- - - but I can't!

We started out with many different tents then an older popup and now have the Summerland 26ft bunkhouse. Only two bunks with twin over full. We thought that would work but soon learned that each child needed their own bunk. We are now one bunk short.
Love the roominess of slide outs but are afraid of having more moving parts. In my life if something can break it will.
Not for sure what maybe in store for us. Maybe the lottery and a really nice MH??

We bought:
#1 a junky pop-up and discovered we loved camping;
#2 a nicer pop-up and discovered we hated cranking;
#3 a tiny 13' hardside TT.
Three trailers in three years. So far, the tiny trailer is working well for us. We've owned it now for three (four?) years now and don't have any plans to get rid of it any time soon.
I guess third time was a charm!

After tenting for many years we went to a pop-up for 3 years, then to our first new TT which was a 21' Amerilite and it took only 2 seasons for us to realize that we needed more space so this February we upgraded to a 29' Rockwood. We PLAN on keeping this for at least 5 years but we also had said that about the Amerilite!

We spent most of last summer looking for our first TT, visited quite a few dealers and along the way learned alot. Almost every dealer told us that most people trade their first one in within a year. I think my wife and I pretty much made it a goal that it would not happen with us. In September we finally pulled the trigger on our first TT and there are always some things you wish you had and some things you can live with, whether it is storage, bathroom size, living space. As long as you are happy is all that matters.
