Going in summer, SIL has a place on the beach so I'd like to be nearby. I ve been to the KOA but it's 25 miles away. Any suggestions ? I have a TT, want full hookups, and the place doesn't need to be awesome, the wife will be spending much of the time with her sister. We have dogs. Pickins seem to be slim---help.

Kitty Hawk CG is the closest to Nags Head. I don't know much other than what rvparkreveiws.com says.

Here is the link.

I hope this helps. The OBX are great. We prefer to go down to Frisco, but it is too far for your needs.

I got the place for you. Brand new and it is right near Nags Head. It is called The Refuge. My neighbors love it but have not been since we prefer to be further south past Oregon Inlet. I have heard from many people The Refuge is nice if you don't need to be on the Ocean.

That place is nothing short of a sand pit, and they pack you in there like sardines in a can... There is a relatively new campground in the Manteo area, can't recall the name of the place though and I've never been there.

We have stayed that "The Rufuge" and love it... Not fancy, but has a pool and fishing from the trailer is nice. As with all places on the Outer Banks, bring your bug spray but otherwise a nice place. No fires on the ground but you can bring kettles if wanted. Close to beach and other things around area.
