I did like the bunk beds (we have 2 kids) and the weight is just right for our crew cab Silverado to pull. I'm gonna show DW all of your comments to see what she thinks. BTW, she liked the JayFeather 29L cause it had 2 double bunks. I didn't cause we don't need to extra bunks. As the song says, smart man, smarter woman.
We thought the same thing - until our 2 kids got a little older, and wanted to start bringing friends along for the weekend. Quad bunks solves that problem, and to my way of thinking, it extends the length of time our kids will want to keep coming camping. At a certain age, they lose some interest in being away from their friends. When you tell them they can each bring one along, the arguments go away. Plus, for some reason, they seem to behave better when there are four of them... something about herds, I guess!

Really so much smarter, just wired up differently.

Just because they're there doesn't MEAN you have to use them but if the wall is just blank you have no choice. OF course this is just another MANS point of view.
Just what is wrong with a mans point of view? JMHO that there has been way to much male bashing in this country over the last couple of decades. (Sorry if I offended anyone, but that statement just kind of hit one of my HOT buttons.)

nephi,
I would not look at an RV the same way we look at houses. In an RV space for storage is premium and every nook and cranny is valuable. Storage anywhere in the RV is welcome. Seasoned RVers understand and rarely complain. Most praise the manufacturer for adding the storage albeit awkward for easy use.

We have the 26P and like the King in the rear. Out of all the trailers we looked at it is by far the largest bed we could find in a trailer this size. Most of the comparable trailers were Queens not Kings. It is rear loading and there is no climbing over anyone to get out. I like the cabinets overhead and we store items not accessed often and you can easily reach up and store magazines, remotes, water bottles or items you may want to access when in bed. We like the layout and find it very expansive. The biggest benefit is you're towing less than 30 Feet but over 35 feet with rear slide deployed. Having the large dinette slide really opens this trailer up. The trailer IMO is loaded with inside storage not including the rear overheads. We have two little ones and a not so little dog so the layout is perfect for us.
