I see everone's point about the cabinets over the king bed being better than nothing. In addition, there is about a 2 foot drop to the floor from the bed to get off the king so that would need to be maneuvbered in order to get to the bathroom during the night. I did like the bunk beds (we have 2 kids) and the weight is just right for our crew cab Silverado to pull. I'm gonna show DW all of your comments to see what she thinks. BTW, she liked the JayFeather 29L cause it had 2 double bunks. I didn't cause we don't need to extra bunks. As the song says, smart man, smarter woman.

Problem with an RV is that you have limited space to locate storage and they wind up putting cabinets over beds and dinette. Just use them for storing items not used often.

Precisely. Storage cabinets over the head of the bed are almost the norm. Six out of 7 RV's we've owned had them. Besides, you don't stand on the bed to access them, you kneel.

I agree and we keep extra sheets, blankets and maybe a pillow if our son will join us at some point. Standing on the bed to get to those seldom used items is not a hassle, but a great use of otherwise dead space for storage.

I agree, at least if you had a walk-around bed you could lean in to get to the cabinets. This plan is less than ideal.

The tv is actually across from the sofa. Far more important than the cabinets IMO. Besides I would not mind some additional storage even if not the most convenient. I do use my cabinets over my bed BTW.

But the TV viewing from the dinette sort of s^%$'s since you have to be turned about 90 deg on almost 2/3's of it's seating area to see the TV. The ability to watch the TV comfortably from more than one position was a major factor is why we choose the FP we did.

Actually looks like a pretty nice layout for a family Camping Trailer. And hey, if the DW doesn't like the cabinets, well that's her perogative isn't it. Although, as stated, I would bet you will find them to come in really handy...
I ended taking the overhead bunk in my trailer, and turning it into cabinets. Since it was never going to be used as a bed, the storage was much more convenient.

Would think there would be some kind of privacy curtain that pulls across at the end of the bed.

It looks like there is a curtain that rolls down at the foot of the bed. But my eyes may deceive me.

Honestly a bigger concern with that floorplan isn't those cabinets - it's the side-loading king bed in the rear slideout. I'm not a huge fan of rear slideouts anyway, but the outboard person having to climb over somebody when getting out of bed for whatever reason is a real pain in the a**.

The queen rear slides are usually side-loading. Kings are usually end-loading.

I like that floorplan as well... But when I looked at the weights I usually can get more room and more storage with a floor plan that doesn't have the slide in the same weight. Length of the trailer to me is not a concern.

DW saw something that I didn't see which put any idea of buying this trailer in the deep freeze. Over the rear slide king bed their are 3 overhead cabinets which you have to access by standing on the bed and bouncing around while you deal with them.

Have you got a hammer and some nails? If you do nail the cabinet doors shut and don't worry about using them. Problem solved! At least they look better than a bare wall.
