Beware of the "double" sites on the end of each row at TM trailer park. These sites have two people butt to butt.
Does any body know what this is all about. We stayed there last month for 9 days.

Again the forum has provided me with a wealth of info. We have decided to extend our trip to include Banff and Lake Louise. Will be up there middle of this month.

We were just there and they asked if we wanted to be part of a double site; we said no. I think they are put there so two RVer's traveling together can have a common site. And right now TM is having MAJOR work; 2/3 of the place is closed.

Well, if you can live w/out hookups, and like free (all you can burn) firewood, I highly recommend the Tunnel Mtn Village 1 campground in Banff.
When we were there it was not full, so it appeared that if you weren't pleased with your site assignment (assigned when you arrive) that you can find a better, and go back to the kiosk and asked to be moved.

We were there Sunday Sept 19 and only Tunnel Mtn Trailer was open. We got a site which was nothing more than an electrical hookup at the curb and a bench. Water and dump station were down near the entrance. I think it was $38. Sorry I didn't keep records.
One thing about Canadian parks is you pay $10 per day per person. Or you can buy a yearly pass for $138. Since we were there for only a few days we paid the daily fee. The staff was friendly and recommended a pizza restaurant in town. They even told us where to park.

You said 2/3rds of Tunnel Mountain campground with full hookups was closed. How busy is it now? We are supposed to be there in the area in about a week and a half. If it's full, are there any nice campgrounds in the area that have full hookups that you can recommend?
