I was curious and just checked out the “block member” option. Had thought it only blocked PMs, but I see that one can also block ALL posts from a member.

I suppose there is a reason why one would do this, but it escapes me. After all, who says you have to read any given post?

The block member function, as most would use it, has not worked for a long time. The first trouble ticket was written 5/10/07; that's almost 3 years ago. It seems apparent that fixing it has a low priority.

Here is a way that will work.

You can block members' posts or private messages by adding their names to youe Blocked Members list, which is accessed by a link on the right-center of your My Forums page. The downside to this way is that you will have to type (or cut and paste) the member's name you wish to block. Note: If you send a PM to a member and then block PMs from that member, he can still reply.

Just wondering if Bucky is trying to block me, since 3 minutes before he posts this he sends me a nasty private message!

And now I get private message number two, except this one is even worse... Hmm, me thinks I have offended mr badger somehow... Although, not exactly sure where, since all he has done is send me nastigrams without any substance.

WHS the way to do away with those type of problems is to copy and paste the "Nasty Gram" on the forums so everyone can see exactly what that person said to you..

This happened to me about five years back on another RV Forum..

A person disagreed with a post I made and instead of disagreeing in a proper and correct way, he sent me a very nasty private message... and I mean it was REALLY NASTY and ranted

I immediately copied and pasted his nasty gram on the forum so all members could see what type of person he was..

It took less than 24 hours for him to be kicked him off the forum after the administrator read it..

And..... I still have that nasty gram on a floppy in case he ever raises his nasty head on a Forum I happen to be a member of..

TWO CENTS WORTH
The story goes that a man died and was approached by the Devil who told him that he could buy his soul back for a dollar. The man searched his pockets and could only come up with 98 cent. While begging the Devil to forget the two cent he was short, an Angel happened by and hearing the Devil laughing, asked the man, "Would you mind if I put in my two cents ?" The Devil got so mad that he exploded in a puff of smoke and the man's soul was saved.
The moral: Sometimes putting in your two cents worth makes a difference.

Whoa! What part of "private" do you not understand? Private messages should not be copied to the forum, without the permission of both parties. If you receive an egregious private message, send a copy of it to Admin, but please do not post it on the forum.

Actually John, while I appreciate the advise, I am kind of with Tom on this one. Although, I am not too worried, nor too offended actually. I honestly believe that anybody who would act in his way has more personal issues, than just being upset with me. No skin off my back.

Thanks again, and you have a Great Day.
