I installed backup landing lights on my own, since we arrive after dark alot on weekends,i like to be able to see more then what the DW shines the light on.
You can see mine in my Mods page down in my signature. They are on there own switch right by the landing legs switch.

Our fiver has backup lights, but I am thinking of relacing them with another pair of regular tail lights being as they are the same size. I can't see any use for the backup lights.I go along with others, get the DW a good flash light.

Backup lights are not common on trailers, at least none that I have seen.

My 03 FW Pride has them. They come on in reverse and really help with the camera I installed.

Back up lights on a trailer are very seldom needed. How often do people back up in the dark. We all have but not very often. Some people use their round scare lights.

Montana added back up lights in 2008. You have to make sure the truck plug is wired for them.

Like others, I added them. Either the TV in reverse or my remote control closes a relay on the trailer and the batteries power up two rear floods and two side floods (as seen in my mods). They are all mounted at frame level and are aimed down so they don't light anybody else up - sort of.

We are vacationers and don't always have a schedule suitable for day parking. Usually traffic on the way can push you into a night arrival. These lights can be your best friend sometimes.

Our '03 Sunline 5th wheel has factory installed LED tail lights including backup lights. I like having the back up lights because they let drivers that are paying attention know that I am backing up or plan to back up. They really don't assist the driver see any better when backing.

My first TT was a used Sunline and had factory installed huge tail lights and back up lights......all my fellow TT owners had never seen back up lights till they saw my little ole TT! They came in 'real' handy when I had to back up the 1/4 mile driveway I had at the time.

Funny that they would eliminate them with newer model RV's.
IMHO they 'should' be mandatory on all trailers.

Maybe it's just me but don't folks back up any other time than parking in a "spot" at night? What about backing up at a store, or parking lot or other places where it would be nice to let others know you're going to back up... I know DW doesn't have to get out every time I have to back up, in fact very seldom do I need a spotter to back up. Our 03 Springdale doesn't have back up lights, but if you take the cover off you'll see it's wired for them but the lenses don't have the clear spot for them. I'm going to wire in after market lights this year just to add some safety when backing up.
