Add Hot Shot Secret and Motorkote to the 6.0 (plus any diesel for that matter). Will make a world of difference and save koo-koo bucks in the long run.

I know nothing about Motorkote but if it is an oil additive I would be very cautious about using it in the 6.0. They are a little fussy about oil. The HotShot Secret does have a faithful following on the web boards. Some like it and some do not think it helps. No one ever said it was harmful. YMMV

At 85000 miles my 06 PSD blew the high pressure oil line and the engine just quit when I came to a stop. The ford dealer in IL fixed it under warranty but unforutnately left a piece of snap ring in the oil line and I drove about 30 miles before it took out the oil pump, front engine cover and oil cooler. This was fixed by another Ford dealer about 30 miles from the first one. The mechanic at the second dealer was very smart on the 6.0 and I was able to watch him fix everything and even showed me the turbo and egr cooler and they were both in very good condition. The truck has ran like new since then (about 3000 miles). This was the only problem I have ever had with this truck since new and the second set of problems was not the fault of the engine but the first mechanic. I was none the less a little afraid of the truck since it was coming up on the end of the warranty so I gave the 6.0 to my wife (she always wanted it) and I bought a new 2010 King Ranch CC Dulley for our tow vehicle and love it. I was always anal about changing the oil ever 3000 miles since new. I think the oil line was just a simple failure after 85000 miles mostly towing from Ohio out west and back for the last four years. I will keep the 06 for a daily driver as long as it dosen't start giving me problems. It gets better milage than my wife's Mazda RX-8 did.
