I just googled the 7200. I'm sold. I have XM in my truck and wished in my MH, that has a built in receiver. It does traffic via xm as well, and I'm all about that. $600 is steep but a little searching and I found it for under $300, so I think I'm going to go ahead and order one and give it a go. If all works out, I'll pass my 5.8" on to my folks to replace their 3.5" they mount on the dash of their class a.

I love mine, but gps can get you out of some real ruts, and I love my XM subscription. I was considering buying an after market unit for it, but they're near $300, so if I can get a bigger GPS that is designed for large vehicles that has built in XM for the same price, it just makes sense.

I have a Magellan Roadmaster 1470 which I like and has some great features, but planning a route isn't always easy or the way I really want to go so you have to be create and force it to do what you want. I do like the big screen and it also has the right lane function as well. I still haven't found a GPS system for a car or MH that is as good as the chart plotters/GPS I had in my boat. I really like Delorme's Street Atlas USA 2010 as it is great for plotting a route and will calculate fuel cost, stops, etc. Great planning tool and does have a GPS that plugs into you USB port on your laptop, however, I really do not have a good location near the drivers seat to mount a laptop. So I use the Delorme for planning and the Magellan while traveling. I also have the trucker's Rand McNally Atlas which is also great to help with planning a trip and it has all the low bridges/overpasses listed for each state, plus diesel gas stops, rest areas, and other good info. I don't think there is any one GPS system that will do it all for you so it is nice to have several options. Good Luck in your search!

I bought a Magellan 4250 two years ago because of their relationship with AAA. It isn't perfect, but hasn't taken me down a wrong road. I am pleased with it, and would buy another if this one broke or was stolen. I would have liked the truck mode of the Garmin, but I can't have everything.

Once you get it you'll probably find the maps might be a little dated. Might want to consider a lifetime update subscription for $94 GPScity I love my 7200 and by keeping the maps current I haven't found anything newer to make me want to switch.

Yep, got the one from Costco on line for 250 bucks which included lifetime maps(Lifetime map upgrades is worth 90 bucks).Offer is good until 3 April.

It does tell you what street, by name, to turn on. It also gives you two warnings to turn, one at 3/10 of a mile and then about 200 feet. Easy to read screen, not all cluttered up with worthless info

I have a Garmin 7200 and love it. The big screen is awesome. I even use it in my pickup truck. My new Phaeton is coming with NAV built into the stereo, but I'm keeping my 7200 as sometimes the built-in GPS are not that good.

You can buy a lot of very good GPS units made by various manufacturers but coming from the boating community I like Garmin because a lot of different map vendors make their maps to accommodate Garmin units all over the world. If you ever take a trip to South America, Central America, or any other remote location you will be glad you have a Garmin when you go to those locals to get maps. Here in the states they all work pretty well and like was said before they all have their quirks. I Google Earth my home it shows my house in the parking lot of the building behind me, so none are perfect. Buy the one you like to fit how you will use it, me I’ll buy Garmin to use in the car, the boat, or the RV when we get it.
