I think the best a 6.5L was ever rated at was 215hp/440tq.

The best source I know for performance parts for GM 6.5L diesels is Heath Diesel.

Since this is a RV forum I rather hoped I would find people who had this engine in a motor home instead of a pick up or hummer. Your pick ups and hummers are going to have a more high speed rear end than a motor home. There for they will have less power, but get better MPG.
MH's use a 4.10 to 1 reduction while pick ups use something in the area of 3.3 to 1 reduction.
In other words it's Apples and Oranges. You can't compare the two.
But thanks for the comeback.

You sound determined to justify buying the thing. Go ahead and prove everyone wrong.
I wouldn't buy one unless it was in a 1/2 ton that never pulled anything and I never drove any further than I was prepared to walk.

If memory serves the 6.2/6.5 were based on a gas engine block. Not a sheet of paper like the 6.6 or cummins. In most forums the 6.6 is looked upon WAY better then the 6.2/6.5. dieselplace has forums for the 6.5 that may have more answers for you.
