I agree, people should be more considerate of the Wal Mart and of ANY others who want to use the parking lot, camper or customer.

Unfortunately, there are trolls, idiots and fools all over, and WM lots seem to collect more than their share. They're also the ones who cry the loudest when Wal Mart restricts the lot use. Too bad others have to suffer for the dim bulb's actions.

Can't believe how selfish RV'rs are in Walmart Parking Lots!! We'll all be lucky if we aren't forbidden to park in them.
We "park" in one many nights while traveling the US. Right now we are in Ft Stockton, TX. It is the ONLY place to stop on I-10 for many miles. As we thought, the lot is starting to really fill up with all types of RV vehicles.
My point is how thoughtless drivers are about where they park and stop. Some actually block aisles near entrances, some just pull in and take an entire row the long way and stop in the middle of it, rather than an end so another RV'r could also park there.
This Walmart is a tiny parking lot and becoming extremely abused by thoughtless RV'rs! One big 5th wheel just pushed out sliders on both sides and parked in the middle of the row so no one can park anywhere near him - how thoughtless!!
Can't we all get out, walk around and perhaps look the lot over before just parking without any thought to how can I not hurt the Walmart business while helping my fellow RV'r??
We better ALL start to think responsibly and remember it is a PRIVILEGE to park in a Walmart - not an RV'rs right!!
I don't want to get kicked out of Walmart parking lots because nobody bothers to "think" before just "parking"!!

Looks like you are a new member and this is your 4th post.

Welcome to the forums.

Why start out with a rant?

There's plenty of WalMart threads on here - just use the search box,
and read for hours.

I was faced with this same situation on our way south last October. I pulled into the center because it was the only level area. Had I moved to either end to make room for a second RV, we both would have had too much pitch to be comfortable -- or safeguard our propane refrigerators.

Doggone it!!! How inconsiderate of WalMart not to have nice level spots for those owners who don't know how to level their rigs.

So you're saying because you're too lazy to level your rig in an out of the way space, to hell with everyone else Have I got a scoop for you....It's NOT all about YOU...!!!....What arrogance......Dennis

Ah, Dennis, it would be nice to have all the money and time to seek out those costly campgrounds with level sites that just happen to be where I need to stop each night. I should have been a highly paid executive instead of a lowly paid teacher.

And it would be nice to be able to level in all instances. (You are an "experienced" RVer, aren't you?) But, instead, I heed the warning lights that tell me when I cannot level in a certain location.

And -- it would be nice if all of us were as pleasant and insightful as you seem to be in your reply to a rather innocuous post.

Very true. But it only takes a few seconds to disconnect the toad.

Seems Walmart is seeing the same rude and ignorant behavior and a lot of stores are changing their policies on overnight stopovers for the Rv community,i guess they are thinking it was a nice idea but just isnt worth the hassles in their parking lots.I'll have to agree with some of their assessments when i pull into a crowded Walmart and some thoughtless person has parked their 70ft rig sideways and is taking up the best part of 15 parking spaces.

Ft Stockton! That's a small Walmart parking lot alright. But, not to worry 'cause there's many free places to park in that town.
Back when I had a smaller MH I still took up several parking spaces. At the Ft Stockton Walmart, back in the day:

Reading this thread brings back happy memories of Dana Garvey doing the "Church Lady" routine on SNL.

And of course you are right. In our case when we pull our little C we would need to reconnect the driveshaft everytime so that solution woudln't work for us. Many use drive shaft disconnects but there are more than a few of us who don't for various reasons. It takes Angela about 5 to 10 minutes to reconnect the drive shaft and about the same to disconnect again. We only pull this when we are dead heading somewhere. The majority of campgrounds don't want to see us...understandable. We tend to stay at truck stops, casinos and walmarts. We are self contained and don't need services for long stretches so campgrounds are out of there for us. I am still amazed that some people feel it is a money thing. I guess my point is every one has their reasons for doing things. To generalixe and lump people together as lazy, cheap, inconsiderate or whatever is wrong in my opinion. Heres a pic of our Toad. Not all the time but at least the years we travel in Mexico.
