Has anyone used Tire Pressure Monitor Caps? We are considering purchasing the type that indicator changes color when the tire pressure is low.

Had mine put on 3 1/2 years ago,,,temporarily, until I could order the remote TPMS......Well, they have done an outstanding job, have not lost any air during that period of time.

However, getting ready to install a remote tpms, tires are aging and want quick alert if there is air loss....Will look at replacing tires next year.

I had them installed, and the service facility told me that in order for them to be properly installed, hand tighten, then a 1/4 turn after they are hand tight...

I am amazed how well they have done,,,they just don't provide an early warning alert....I check them at each stop...

I tried the ones for my MH that Camping WOrld sells and it was a disaster. In just a few weeks I had two tires losing air and it was due to the caps. I tossed them and just chalked it off to............

Tried some years ago. They caused tires to slowly go flat. I tossed them.

Only problem I had with them was the wife had to run alongside the rig to warn me if they changed color........ with the TPMS she gets to ride again....

They will eventually start allowing air to escape. Not bad for the price but not worth it if you compare them to the TPMS....Dennis

How many miles to the wife did you get? (MTW) Did she run in front to get to the other side or drop back from the rear of the RV?

How did she protect her hair when it rained?

Many more questions but now that she's back inside does she appreciate you more?

I tried them and tossed them out. Not accurate, i.e., had a low tire but the cap didn't change color.

My wife found that running alongside was OK, but the wheel rotation still made it hard to detect a color change. She solved that by rolling like hoop snake at the same rotational speed as the wheel, but that only worked when she was younger.
