Saw a 2003 motorhome (Coachmen Mirada) at Camping World that looks really good. I did walk upon a soft spot in the floor next to the shower. If the price is right should I alllow them to fix and then buy or just stay away from this unit?

If the underbelly is not covered, perhaps you can look from the bottom side to determine the extent of the damage. If not too severe, it would be a great reason to:
1. Buy as-is for a much reduced price and fix it yourself.
2. Have the dealer fix it to your satisfaction.

I would pass on the unit. Soft flooring can be due to water damage or excessive heat from the exhaust system. They would probably fix the soft spot but who knows if that is the complete extent of damage or if you'll have further problems.

Not only would the soft spot need to be fixed but the cause found and fixed. The 2nd one might be a lot harder and "glossed" over.

Is/was it caused by the shower or a broken vent from above. While the floor may be not too difficult to fix, check the roof and make sure the vent didn't leak and do unnoticed damage above.

The real only way to know extent of damage is to rip up the vinyl. Soft spot could just be a crappy job of laying floor such as my unit which as a seam unsupported thus it seemed squishy and was in the bathroom. Absolutely no water or heat damage, just poor design.

Are you SURE it's damage? You say NEAR the shower, not in it. Is this under carpet, etc.? It's not unusual to find a troft under the floor to carry plumbing to the shower and sink from the water heater or tank. My old =85 Pace had the exact same "feel", and it was nothing more than a plumbing channel with a metal cover on it.

I was told by the dealer that the owner had the leak fixed but had to talk to his service person about what they were going to do about the soft spot.

Remember, you're talking to a salesman.
Ask him where the leak was and what was done to fix it. If he doesn't know (might be the only truthful thing he'll say), ask to talk to the original owner.
