I get a call yesterday and it seems I won a lifetime membership to camperworld. It seems I still pay $299.00 a year. I entered this contest at a big rv show in Utah several weeks ago. The caller said the membership is worth $3000.00. I have no rv but am thinking of getting one soon. I have thought of retirement in a 5th wheel but haven't decided yet. Is this membership worth a dang? It seems that it is six or seven campgrounds in Utah. They do look nice online. They list for around $50.00 a night for non members. Does this take in more states? Is this just a scam? It might be a good deal if you use it. Does anyone know anything about camper world? We are invited to an orientation next week in Utah. It's on a weeknight and kind of a long trip. I wonder if it is worth going to? Does anyone own one of these and is there an advantage? One of the reasons I don't own a bigger camper yet is the expense of camping, storage and maintenance ETC. Thanks all. Comments would be appreciated.

Let's see, they say you won a lifetime membership but you still have to pay $299/year.
Sounds like a scam to me.

This is the reason I no longer fill out contest slips at shows, etc.; I always seem to win! Most recent was a carpet cleaner. I "won" them cleaning a room for free. All I had to do was to pay for them to clean two other rooms! What they really want is your contact information. You've then got friends for life! Sorry, no free lunches...

Sounds like a "come and get me" scheme, to me. What better way to lure people in than to tell them that what they're paying is only 10% of the "total value"?

If you won something free and it's still going to cost you money to receive it.... a scam for sure! If it sounds to good to be true....it's usually a ripoff!!!!

Biggest and oldest scam at every RV show is fill out and win then pay. Best is to forget it and say no thanks and never fill out another entry / contest form at an rv or boat show.

CamperWorld
Call them. The web site looks okay and appears to be a lot like other RV member camps and not so different than Hart Ranch that I belong with. It MAY be a good deal after all. I pay about $270 every year for Hart Ranch for their maintenance fees and I don't feel "scammed". Check it out with BBB and ask the CamperWorld if they will give you any member names to check them out too. It may be that it will fit your needs but you should check it out before you just decide it is not worth the time.
Good luck.

Well if you want to stay in one or two places all the time to get your monies worth, sort a cuts down on your freedom of staying in other places in the states. You feel obligated to stay in there camp grounds only
