This is a follow-up to an earlier thread

http://www.rv.net/forum/index.cfm/fuseaction/thread/tid/23740721.cfm

Well after all the dust settled we are putting the final touches on closing a deal for an Open Range 399 BHS.

We looked at them at the Hershey show last year and really liked them. But at the time we were still about 18 months from upgrading. This spring rolls around and we decided to move our purchase up to this fall at the show rather than next spring. In the course of planning our summer trips we chose to take a 12 day trip from PA to Maine and back. At which time we realized that a nice big fifth wheel with a bunk house would make the trip much more enjoyable.

So we looked at many many different models and floor plans all the while my friend schlep1967 kept telling me that I was getting an Open Range. He and his wife bought a 385RLS over the winter. Over the last 5-6 years our purchases have closely mirrored each other from Kodiak travel trailers to Dodge pickups to Bowtech bows. All along I knew it was going to happen and i fought it kicking and screaming trying to find an alternate to the 399.

Well it didnt work, we ended up with a great deal on the 399 and if all goes well we will be picking it up next week.

So I am here to say I was wrong and schlep was right

If you will take that crow put it in a pot of boiling water, put a brick on top of it to hold it down, boil for 30 minuetes, drain the water, throw the crow away and eat the brick. It is a lot better that way.

We looked at them but they seem better suited to the older grandfatherly type rather than for a young guy like me.

Sounds like something I would say also!...lol
