Hot off the press. I just got an email message from my Congressman who in turn got a call from the Forest Service spokesman who said that the policy of reducing the percentage of the amount that the disabled and the golden age passports gave, is being rescinded. The amount of negative feedback (I wonder why) was too much.

I give all the credit to those of us who called the Forest Service and complained or had their Congressman do the complaining. We did it.

It is a good sign that the pols and beaurocrats listened this time. Now if we can wake the rest of the boneheads in Washington we will be doing alright

Fantastic, most of the time numbers do have an effect, and this proves it to be correct. And 2 years in countdown mode.

Outstanding!

Now ... if we can get the various states to offer the same type of discounts to seniors at state camping facilities ... wouldn't that be great.

For example, here CA seniors get a whole $2 off daily camping rates ... an amount so small as to be a not-so-funny but laughable insult.

Oh and to the OP, that is great news! Even though I am not there yet, I am looking forward to the benefits when I do get there. You have earned it in my book!
