Now I would believe that if it were one of the old magnetek converters but with switcher technology converters that most of us have there's no ripple. I have bench tested several converters for there standalone operation....Clean 12 vdc power...

Yep, older units but anything that converts AC to DC has a potential of producing AC ripple. It took a long long time to track down the first RV that was giving us fits. We found the RV's plugged into AC and batteries dry etc. The antenna company sent new amps free of charge. Chased down a DVD player that did similiar things.

Hi Guys
Sorry, I thought you would understand EHU - Electric Hook Up (Shore Power).
In my case it is 240v AC - but the aerial (antenna) booster is 12 volt
Wingard, so I think I underestand that it will not damage the booster but obviously if I disconnect shore power it will flatten the battery?
Thanks for all of your input.

Hi Nigel,
The auto radios that I have had in my campers have a 12 volt output wire that is powered when the radio is on. It is normally used to power a retractable antenna but I have used it for an antenna booster. I don't think leaving it on will hurt it and they draw very little power.
