We have had a lot of fun recently following Wine tasting events along the road when we are RV'ing. Usually a half day event - inexpensive and we get to meet a lot of folks - not all from the RV community.

Here is a link to a write up on one event we attended last year up on the Blue Ridge Parkway - near Rock Castle Gorge - RV park is just east of the winery. The Blue Ridge Wine Trail There are others in NC, TN and AL.

Let me hear from you if you know of an event coming up this summer - we are making plans to get back on the road.

Thanks for the tip - Food is the one thing I miss about lower LA - having lived there for several years in the 70's - Pat's over on the river - the other river - was a favorite place. Now we need a good spot to park the rig??

DLW,
If the budget will go the price, the French Quarter Resort is the best - and you can get a carriage to the NOWFE events. Otherwise, over the river to Bayou Signette, Toad to the ferry dock, free ride across the mighty Mississippi and walk to the NOWFE functions.

Have Fun!! We'll be there!!! (Rig will be in the storage lot!!)

To All: The special event is the 'Royal Street Stroll' - you buy a special wine glass to participate - it's your 'ticket'. Then, starting at 5:00 PM and going until 10:00PM, stroll the Royal Street for about 10 blocks - visiting the many and various antique and art galleries - each with different food and wines from local suppliers and world wide vintners. All wine samples and food are included in the price of your glass - what a deal!! In 4 years of participation, in the best year, I only made about 75% of the offerings – and took a taxi home!!

It's a BLAST!!!

There is a "wine trail" through Fredricksburg and the Texas Hill country which is some BEAUTIFUL country with some nice RV parks. I will remember the links and the wife and I would like to try a couple of them.

Thanks !

When we are in the campground across the US we have a tendisy to break out a few bottle of Chateau Grand Traverse for our home state of Michigan.
We have plenty of OOHs and AHHs at the quality of Michigan wine. LOL
Oh yeah on the other side when we are staying in a CG for a few days we sometimes befriend someone and to that person(s) we give a bottle of Sanders Milk Chocolate Hot Fudge!
We've never had complaints on either!!
