With us living in Canada, is there any pros and cons of switching to Good Sam Emergency Road Service, been with CAA for years but thinking of changing, any thoughts? Thanks Vern

Might have changed, but I signed up with Good Sam because the Canadian ones had no provision for looking after the 5th wheel, only the truck. No plan for if the trailer couldn't be towed but the truck was fine. No good to me. Good Sam does all that plus all the vehicles in your and DW's name. Heck of a deal.

For ERS in small population areas, travelling to these areas, as well as living in them, there is NO comparison. Good Sam is away ahead of CAA. They have the network for getting service to you and have had it for quite a few years.

CAA is better in some parts of the country than others, but it's uneven.

& I, I took the road less travelled by.

Is the annual premium between the two much the same?

You might want to seriously consider Coachnet. Check for opinions on both and make your own determination.Reports I have seen indicate Coachnet provides exellent service in Canada.

We have the basic Gold Coachnet - was $89USD to renew at the Tampa RV show in Jan. I have now dropped CAA as the Coachnet covers ALL family vehicles you own as well as all famiy members. There is an upgrade option that offers extra coverage. Their basic services significantly exceed CAA and include arranging RV service appointments in the event of breakdown.

If you can do without CAA maps & Tour Guides, my opinion is Coachnet is the better option.

I dropped CAA as it was more than twice the cost. Have not used in Canada, but have had excellent service in the US

But do you get the discounted Cinplex Odeon tickets with Good Sam?? LOL
It's about the only service I use regularly with CAA

We're CAA (BCAA) fans. Truck, fifth wheel (either/or/both) are both covered for towing with the Premier RV. We haven't had to use the service with the trailer, but have used it numerous times with our other vehicles. Always prompt and courtous service.

Had to use it once in Washington State when the Class C got two flats on the I-5 at midnight (heading home from an event in Vancouver WA). Again, very prompt and courteous service; driver dropped us off at a tire store where we slept until it opened in the morning.

We live on Vancouver Island. We use Good Sam and have needed to use the service in both Canada (outside Parksville) and the U.S. (on Hwy 101 along the Oregon coast). Both times the service was friendly and fast from the operator and the towing service provider.

Good Sam was a better price the last time I checked.
