This is a very old recipe. It's from Gracie Burns.

Take two roasts, one large and one small. Cook at 350 D and when the little one is burnt, the large one is done. Enjoy!!

My wife uses the smoke alarm. That is a nice invention but many years to late because she was 16 when we married.

Since you raised her she should do as you tell her, how is that working out.

I got mad at her one day and told her I didn't want to see her for three days.

In three days my right eye was just opening a bit.

My wife cooks like that all the time; that's why the smoke detector isn't attached to the wall anymore.

She's a fabulous cook. That the smoke detector doesn't agree is beside the point.

_Of course_ I wouldn't have burned the buns _twice_ tonight if the smoke detector was working...

I have to admit I am somewhat that way, I have a habit of starting out with the stove on high and forget to turn it down until I smell something burning. I try to multi tasking too much and forget I have food cooking. Been dieting, so yesterday was doing some boiled eggs. Had a phone call from DD-inlaw forgot I had them cooking on high until I heard an explosion, yes the water evaporated and eggs exploded. What a mess.

Since I turned 70, I made a rule. NEVER WALK AWAY FROM A BURNER TURNED ON HIGH!!!! Like Ron White says, "You can forget about it, I know because I've seen myself do it!"
