All the Class A's that I'm looking at only have a queen size bed. I really need a king. Is it possible to rip out the existing queen and replace with a memory foam king?
What is under the existing mattress? Plumbing or electrical?
Thanks

You did not specify if you have a gas or diesel class A. If it's a diesel the engine is under the bed. Assuming there is room for a king size bed, no problem. If it's a gas class A you just need to take a look under the bed.

It doesn't matter what is under the bed if you are just replacing the mattress. You just need an additional 12" in width. It can be on one side or the other or you can gain 6" on each side. You may have to modify a side bed table and increase the width of the mattress base but it still won't matter what is under the bed. If the room is big enough to add the additional 12 " in width, this is a very easy project and should be fairly inexpensive, depending on what you spend for the king mattress.

Just make sure you can get a king-sized mattress in the door. No problem for a foam mattress or two king-singles, but sprung mattresses don't always take kindly to being folded in half.

Just make sure that you do increase the width of the wooden mattress base to match - you don't want the edges to be unsupported.

On my coach with 2 bedroom slides the problem would be when I try to put the slides in........just doesn't work unless you tilt the mattress up every time you put the slides in....then again my nightstands would also be a problem.
