Hi Folks,
Am getting ready to have a Metal Carport installed on my property for my 5er. and am looking for recommendations from those of you who have a metal carport and may have used different manufacturers.
If you could discuss the pros/cons of the type you have, it would be greatly appreciated and helpful. Price is also an object obviously, but if you wish not to divulge your cost....I can always find it myself when contacting each company with my particular measurements, etc.
Thanks so much in advance for any help,

Enjoy the journey......

I can recommend Steelmaster USA for quality steel and the willingness to work with you to get exactly what you want.

Yes I am also considering a metal carport. I have a quote from carports.com for a 14'W x 28'L x 12' H for around $1,850.00. Still not ready but gettting closer.

Got mine from EagleCarports.com. Had it for over a year and very happy with it. Have another smaller one that is 8 years old at my shop.

I just built one back in 2004. It is 36' long by 11' wide, and 13' high. It cost around $900.

Be careful with the metal car ports if you live in an area with the possibility of snow. Where I live in MD we got an unusual amount of snow this year and many car ports and covered boat slips collapsed. Don't always go for the cheapest.

Yep I worried about the snow issue. I talked to carports and they told me that it would be no problem with the large amount of snow we had this year. That is why I am leaning toward their construction. They are bound by law to meet certain specifications with their product.

I had a Company named COVER ALL in Northern Cal deliver the metal carport etc and my Sons helped me put it up. 40 ft long, 12 ft wide. Should have gone 14 ft wide. About $1,000 for the parts. This was about 18 years ago. Later I had the same Company put up a 30 ft by 12 ft for a smaller RV for about $1,400
Really happy with both

I had Carolina Carport install our first cover for the 5th wheel it was 18' by 36' and then upgraded 5th wheels and needed a 45 footer. I think the cost was $3,600 at the time 2006. We then sold the house and the Carport and moved. I now have a 40' x 50' x 16' cover we call them pole barns here. I wish I would have inclosed the covered building and made it 60' long with two 24' roll up doors. The cost for the 40'x60'x16' pole barn was $9,500. Take your time and check and double check everything and make sure you go big. GBY...

We have the 18' X 41' X 14'6" center height with 6' drop down sides and back by Carolina Carports for almost 10 years. It's served us well and just this past year, we moved it onto another concrete slab and had them come back out and add a 12' X 41' wing onto it with a roll up door for boat storage, utility trailer storage and other stuff. Now one side goes all the way to the ground and it's open on one side and the rear.

It's rated for the hurricane force winds, Katrina & Gustav plus one twister that did other damage around our home and it's held up really well. It was priced in our range and affordable IMO.
