Ok heres the deal... in our Motor home we get some cell phone signal, but its rarely enough to hold a call or use our air card to search the web. I am trying to find a solution for us that will benefit all. We have AT&T as a provider and in most areas I have found that they are using both 800 and 1900 MHz.

I have been doing some reseach on the we and found a repeater kit specifically for an RV so I'm wondering does any one have any experience with somehting like this, is it worth the cost, any advice or suggestions are appreciated.

Heres the link of what I'm thinking about getting, but hope some one may have some input.

Thanks in Advance...

Those are good, however I bought a Wilson stick on cell antenna at a truck stop and it has done the job for us. It was about $35.00. For the air card there are several plug in antennas on the market, if your air card has the plug in for an external antenna.

Absolutely worth the cost. Just for safety of having a telephone that works.

With the exception of the "Inside" antenna thats exactly what I have installed.

With the 801245 you can also get the 12V power supply along with the 110V ac, No problems over the past years and people will walk around the rig just to pick up a better signal.

Tim,

You will get lots of different opinions on this particular setup. Some people do not care for the Wilson equipment. I have been using this exact setup for some time now. If you want to read a rather lengthy set of articles about this setup, you can go to my blog. I have no affiliation with any equipment maker or supplier.

I bought this set up off ebay for $190.00. I will have to purchase the inside antenna to broadcast the signal...mine is for a car and has no range. Good system, but if you shop you can get it a lot cheaper than the prices on your example.

I just use the Wilson RV antenna which gives me one more bar (direct plug into my palm phone.) I had an amp but saw no difference and returned it.

We use a smoothtalker booster.

plus use the booster and the cell phone a modem for an internet connection and move it to the FROG when we use it
