We received the PA rate for 2 weeks and saved the cost of the 3 yr membership in just this one stop.

Many seem to be put off by the restrictions or the number of times they can't use Passport America. I focus on those times it is available and convenient. At a cost of $45 for one year I find I use it often enough every year to make it worthwhile. Some years I may save a lot, other years I save just a little, but I have always more than paid for my subscription. We always check our Passport book first when we travel. If there is one available we use it, if not we move on to our Good Sam or KOA discounts. We do NOT go out of our way to stay at Passport campgrounds.

And should you have "reservations" (pun intended) about using a specific CG, cross reference it against the Trailer Life directory. Or look it up at rvparkreviews.com.

We use ours regularly, and in 6 years of PA membership, we've had only one bad experience...And I should have known better!

A lifetime member and it paid for the lifetime membership in the 1st year. Not all member campgrounds are equal. Most are good to great, but there may be a rotten apple in the bunch. Alert Passport America and supposedly they will re-evaluate the campground. Some campgrounds honoring PA discount ask for payment in cash only, others will take plastic without a problem.

Great when slowly traveling cross country, or making a multi-destination trip.

As you've already heard, we don't leave home without it, love it, but, if you restrict yourself to a small area, or dont travel much, it may not be for you, otherwise, the only drawback for some are the restrictions, but if you can work around them, it's great, just be sure to checkout the web site, the restrictions (if any),for each CG are clearly stated, we saved 4 times the cost, at Gettysburg in one trip.

We signed up for the first time this year and it has paid for itself in just a few months. Yes if you keep looking at places you can't stay it will get to you but when you are just traveling long distances and need an overnight stop the Passport parks have been great. We are very pleased and will re-up for sure. Might even leave the Good Sam lapse for the 10% saving they give doesn't do much.

We find Passport America really useful for overnight stops when traveling cross country, Have used them in most areas of the country. Have found some great parks and some a bit shabby, but even those make convenient and inexpensive overnight stops when we are on the move. Some of the nicer places have seasonal restrictions, but so what.

As others said, the membership paid for itself on the first trip we made after joining. Their website is the first place I look when planning out potential stops.

The only campground membership I have is PassportAmerica. Got first year free with our new HitchHiker 5er and it has saved us a bunch. We have renewed. At some campgrounds it states only good for a couple of days... But several say if not full they will let us stay for more days. Just ask... They would rather have you in a spot than it be empty... to be sure.

We had a similar experience, except the rate applied to one week. It was enough to cover a 3 year membership. We had a one year membership initially and let it lapse. Soon after the expiration, we were heading to a PA park and the savings were enough to cover 3 years. It didn't take a rocket scientist to do the math. If you're going to a PA park anyway, it's common sense to buy the membership.

Hi All.

We have one of the older style Golden Access Passports. My cost for a Life Time Memberships was only a one time cost of $10.00. Due to I am 100% Disabiled. I can't even begin to tell you how much money it has saved us, with the 50% savings. And it is acceppted at the Bureau Of Land Management, Fish & Wildlife Services, Bureau Of Reclamation, National Park Service, Forest Service, and the Tennessee Valley Authority. We have had this card for quite a few years now. Good Luck. Dan & Jill
