I've been studying these units and I've come to the conclusion that in no particular order that the best made out there are: Born Free, Coach House, Dynamax, & Leisure Travel Vans LTD. Did I miss any other brand that belongs on this list? Bagman.

From what I've seen, the Coach House would be #1 on that list.

The 2010 Monaco Montclair may be worth a look, also!

The RV Consumer Group "RV Ratings Guide for 2010 Models" indicates that the top rated motorhomes in the length you are looking at are the Itasca Navion or Winnebago View, the Phoenix Cruiser, the Jayco Precept, The Triple E Regency or Regal, and the Holiday Rambler Traveler.

I had the View and now have the Phoenix Cruiser and can attest to their high ratings on build, safety, road handling, etc.

We just took delivery of a Phoenix Cruiser 2350 Sprinter. It's worth a look. We are totally pleased with our decision to purchase the Phoenix. Love it!!!

I have the 26' Phoenix Cruiser which is advertised as a B plus. I believe the distinction between a B plus and a C is that a B plus would not have an over cab bed and most Cs do have that bed over the cab. The Phoenix Cruiser is rated nearly 100% on road handling which is very important living here in the southwest. I just bought it and am making some minor interior modifications to make it more personal before I take it to the road in the wind tunnels known as NM, TX, AZ, and CO.

Loved our Coach House. It was really well built and had some higher end items than the Discovery I have now.

My wife and I bought a new Phoenix Cruiser 3 years ago. Those who have been on this forum a while, know I am very happy with our choice. You can see ours by Clicking Here. It is one of the few without a slideout. We special ordered it that way. This year the factory made the slide bigger by including the fridge in it. That improved floor space a lot. Still I'd do the same and not get one. That's me, the odd guy.

Coach House is built better with a one piece house/shell. But it comes with a much larger price tag.

Yes you have certainly highlighted some of the best. There is also Lazy Daze Coach which are very high end also. We have a Winnebago Aspect 26A and this is a very fine MH in quality and fit and finish also but at a lower price tag. Check them all out for the floor plan and match that up with your needs and budget then you will have a fit. Good Luck

The OP's subject line mentioned lengths up to 28 ft. .... so he might want to take a look at this 27 ft. Host unit.

It's specs read superb and I recently looked one over personally and it looked awesome:
