Fixing to retire the first of Nov. and hitting the road.
Looking at a '07 Sierra 335RLT in real good condition and a real good deal. Going to be towing it with a '06 Ford F250 FX4, 3.73 gears, with 6.0 PSD.
Use to tow a 30' bumper pull first time 5th wheeler.
Any suggestions or advise on trailer, truck, or anything else?

By hitting the road are you saying you are going full time? IF so plan everything at the maximum weights. You will quickly learn that you will be at those numbers.

Have fun your rig sounds fine for shorter trips but not for full timing. I would suggest getting on the road and seeing what will work best for you. happy trails my friend. every person has different tolerances.. your truck and 5ver work

The truck has a tow rating of 15500, the trailer is 14000 fully loaded 10000 light with 2000# pin. I don't plan on running with the over 1000# of water weight and as I said I've towed before so I know how to load light. As far as fulltime I guess it would be more of full to part time..
Thanks for all the info guys...

The 5er your looking at is well within the trucks pulling capabilities. You won't have any issues there.

Now for how much your 2500 truck can carry on the rear axle which is where the 5ers pin weight sits. This is the part that everyone has to guess as you haven't any actual scaled front or rear axle weight numbers. The 5ers pin weight is a estimate also. Some folks use the trailers GVWR or the manufactures dry weights. Both may be used for estimates.

Ford gives the F250 a 6084 RAWR/tire caps for carrying loads on the rear axles/tires. Your F4 is a heavy truck and its rear axle unladin weight may weigh 3000 lbs. That leaves 3000 lbs for a payload. Figure 250 lb for a hitch plus a percent of other gear/folks that are between the front and rear axles and your left with approx 2400-2600 lbs for a max (wet) pin weight.

Many folks with the F250 upgrade their wheels/tires to the same as the F350 SRW truck and add air bags or other aftermarket suspension upgrades. And many folks move up to a F350 or purchase a 5er with a lower pin weight. Watch the load on the rear tires. Front tires changes little if any so their not of concern.

Under the or anything else? category...

Found this PDI (Pre Delivery Inspection Check off list)
on another forum. I would print it out and carry the items in a tote to check out your potential rig. It could save you lots of time and money in the long run.

Good luck and safe travels,

Thanks JIMNLIN never thought about it that way.
I do plan on putting on air bags to level out the truck.
I do have a concern about the tire rim combination though, because they are stock low profile 20's. I asked the rv shop manager about it and he told me I would have no problem.

So those do not sound like OEM wheels and tires. Are they LRE tires rated to something more that 3000 lbs each?
