Get a small battery powered machine. I have one that runs on two AA batteries.
We used it 10 nights the first time out...no problems. The batteries lasted all summer, didn't check it yet this year.

Assuming it's drawing 20 amps or less I figure 17 amp-hrs or less.

Rather than a white noise machine why not tune your radio to the AM band where there isn't a station broadcasting and adjust the volume to your liking. Works for me and my wife.

This is a great idea!!! I worked nights all my life and had to have something running in the daytime to block noise. Now retired I still can't sleep without the noise.

I have a fan in the bedroom but seem to always forget to put something in the camper. And it's always been there!!! The radio!!!

Thanks!!

All great ideas. I'm just trying to use what I have and I'm still working on wrapping my head around the whole 12v thing. I usually sleep well when we boondock or visit a quiet campground...but as soon as it gets busy I have problems. I'm going to run my spare machine tonight and see where I end up battery wise. Thanks to all who responded.

I use my fantastic fan when I don't have shore power for the AC for noise. Works pretty good, don't know how long it would last though.

I have had one of these devices for years. I bought it a Sharper Image. It has an AC plug in adapter and also has 2 "c" flashlight batteries to run it on it's own, so I would not think it would draw much when plugged in.

Double dip on results and try out a Fantastic Fan Endless Breeze 12 volt box fan. They are small, about the size of your stovetop, and have speed settings. On low they draw 1 amp or about 12 watts. I read somewhere that a single 12Volt, 1156 camper light bulb, draws 27 watts so the fan doesn't draw much power on low. Like leaving 1/2 of a light bulb on all night.

It will give you a bit of white noise, and circulate the air in your camper for more comfortable sleeping.

I have one that I bought at Camper World for about 70 dollars, but you can find them in the 50 dollar range on the internet.

I find white noise too bright to sleep through. I prefer a sandy tan noise.

Found one...4 AA's been going for over 12 hours now. Wife brought it home from babies-r-us for $23. It will help at the more noisy camps.
