We have been staying in a 500 site RV Resort in Florida with paved streets, street lights through out the park and security guard at the gate.
So why do some people feel they need to leave their security lights on all night? For the last several months the campers on either side of us have left the security lights burn all night and we have to keep the curtains and blinds pulled just to sleep because it's so bright out. Then a couple trailers down have there clearance (indicator)lights wired so the look like a christmas tree all night?
Just needed to vent.

IF you figure that one out please publish it. How can they be afraid of something that would itself be scared off by a light?

I place those folks in the inconsiderate category but just in case I'm wrong, perhaps you could ask the manager to check with them to see if they are unaware they have left them on and suggest they turn them off?

I've been on the flip side of this and on your side. Biggest suggestion I have, get to know your neighbors and mention it. When I had my first 5er I had flipped the scare light switch on and never noticed it, next day the neighbor at a campground kindly asked if I had left them on for any reason. After that I always checked. I think some units have the side scare lights tied in with the porch light. Nothing wrong with politely asking if they can dim them... that's what a sense of community is all about. If they won't turn them out, ask to see if you can change spots perhaps. Good luck!

Or just ask them. Once the folks behind us did it, and next morning I mentioned it to them, and yes. they had forgot to turn it off, and it did not happen again.
But yeah. Some are scared of the dark, and really should just stay home.

Forgot and left our "porch light" on Fri this past weekend when camping. Why assume the worst in someone?

Tell them to turn them off or find a way to point them at their own windows.

I think they are signaling that they want the mother ship to take them back to their home planet. I wish they hurry up and go!

Mention it to them. It is certainly annoying but I think most of the time it is because the miscreants simply forget to turn them off.

Many people are terrified of what they suppose lurks in the dark; it's been drummed into them the past generation or two.
