I imagine this has been covered before, but I'm looking for a small dish compatible with my home DirecTV receiver. My understanding is the receiver will work if I have a dish, meter, and cable. Am I right? Anyhow, where to buy, best price, which one ?? Need all the info I can get. Thanks

KISS...extra dish/mount from flea market/Ebay, piece of 2x12 for base, cable. Practice finding Sat.

Try Ebay, Craigs List or most ANY local installer. I purchased mine from an installer who had upgraded a customer to HD and sold the dish to me for $10.00
Built the stand from PVC for less than 10.00 and it works great.

Take a look at this PVC dish mount. Easy to make and store, won't blow over and stays where it is aimed.
