I am attempting to polish my aluminum wheels on our new (to us) motorhome for the first time. They have not been polished in a while so it will be a job. I have thought about using liquid polish with the with the Mothers polishing ball. Is this the easiest way, or does someone have a better way. Thanks Ronnie

Yes, it is a job and a half to make aluminum wheels shine like chrome. Lots of elbow grease or you can pay these professionals about twenty dollars a wheel and they bring their little power tools to polish them up. The only bad thing is that once water hits them, they dull up right away.

Helpful Tip! Use corn starch on a clean rag to get off all that black dirty left over polish off when done.

I use my cordless drill, a Mother's "Power Ball" and some Mother's "PowerMetal" Aluminum wheel cleaner. Wash the wheel to get rid of the dirt, a few minutes with the powerball/cleaner, and a rinse with a rag/hose and I'm done.

I was at the FMCA Southeast rally in Brooksville, FL. and went to an interesting workshop sponsered by Busch Wheel cleaning products. They have products strictly for aluminum wheels and I bit and boy did they really work. It took a while, but now all you have to do is use a quick polish application and rub with a towel to maintain that shine.

Works beautifully................

I agree, but we have about a month before we hit the road again. I guess I will have to bite the bullet and do them myself.

This is what I use, but get a corded drill with something between 1800-2200RPM, unless you have a bucket of batteries.

Flitz also works well but not easy to find.

I paid $10/wheel at the Wildwood truck wash. They've literally never looked so good. They removed all the lug covers, center caps and spent 10-15 mins per wheel machine and hand polishing.

I've done it myself several times... I've never been able to match those results. Spend the $10/wheel at a truck stop and save yourself a lot of grief.
