Our stove top fan is not vented to outside the rig.

DW would prefer that it is vented.

Has anyone modified their fan to be exterior vented?

I'm looking for the same thing for my Class B RV. At first I was looking into a recirculating exhaust fan but since the B is so small my DW prefers an outside vent as well. I think I will install one of these. They can be installed on a vertical wall as well (my application) and are water (rain) proof as well. May not be exactly what your looking for and the fan may not be powerfull enough for your application but will hopefully suffice for my needs. I'd be interested in your final solution.

My TC came with a stove top / range hood that vents horizontally to the outside. The hood has both light and fan switches. Outside is just a louvered plate which I seal during winter camping as the vent just has a plastic flapper plate and cold air comes right in.

It is a black model CC316-1 range hood (2001) made by the Ventline division of Philips Products of Bristol, Indiana. Hard to say how that translates to the "PH series" that it looks like on their site

They make better outside plates (under range hood accessories on their website) which I will switch over to when the existing one cracks with age.

Mine is not directly vented directly to the outside however I have a roof vent with a Fantastic-Fan just beyond the stove area; seems to work well for us.

Still waiting for a reply to the OP. I have the same issue and sure do miss the old outside discharge vent.

Yes, we have the fantastic roof vent. But, when cooking on the burners the fan and filters below the overhanging microwave/convection oven is the area impacted by wafting after burn... hence the desire to vent that fan. I will have to get creative...
