I am putting in a driveway next to the house to unload the camper & park the truck. I am going to the city tomorrow(Wed, 3-9-10) to show them my plan. I need some pictures of metal RV storage carports to take with me so they have an idea of what I am wanting to do. I would like a variety of types to show them.
So if there is anyone out there that would be willing to post their pictures, I would really appreciate it.

Thanks,
Big Rig

Here's a link to results of a Google search for metal rv carports, lots of images. Just keep clicking "Next" at the bottom of the page for more.

Hope it helps.

Thanks for the reply Spott. Looks like what I have been seeing when I did a search. I guess I should have been more specific. I was hoping to get an example of someone in my situation with a driveway on the side of the house & a carport to hold their camper, preferrably with the camper in the carport. I know that folks have posted pics like that but in doing a search on RV.net I have failed to come up with one. Not sure how to search for that on RV.net. So if anyone has an example, I would appreciate seeing your solution or if you know where an example is on RV.net or anywhere else.

Heres mine: 25X12....Wish I would have done 30X12 or 30X14....

Check out Carolina Carports. Installation included. If you live in a windy area they have engineered to 90mph winds for a little more cost....They include the engineering diagrams for permits too.

Carolina Carports

I would, if I were to do it again make the roof panels run on the slope instead of across the flat. Tje rain water would run off the sides rather than the ends.

Here's a couple of links to others that have posted covers:

Hay Big Rig, in eastern Kansas there are quite a few distributors of the Carolina carports. Check it out..

Locator

Mine was based on the Boxed eves style:
Boxed eves style

When I ordered mine the install team came over 200 miles to do mine. It took them about 2 hrs to assy the dang thing....

$2200 for everything. I did the concrete, water and 110.

Mine is 11 ft high...I should have done 12. I had to remove one gable panel to get the camper in....

Hope this helps,

Jim

It is too dark to post take a picture but mine has 11 ft legs and 22 ft wide to handle both the camper and truck side by side. You need some extra width for clearance like swing outs and access. Once the camper is in you can lower it but my camper sits 10 ft on the side then add A/C , etc and there is another foot. Where I live they require braces that 45 degrees off of the legs and they attach at about 9 ft so the camper has to be at least 18 inches off the side wall when I back in. I also added a couple of side panels to protect from the sun. My port was by Carolina carports with the rounded edge to save $$

Thanks a lot guys, I knew you would come through for me. I copied some of the pics to a flash drive to take to the city folks to see. Hopefully they will like what they see & I will have the go ahead.

Thanks again,

That's exactly what I need! Too bad I can't get them here in Washington State.

Just got back from city hall. They said I have enough room to put in the driveway but not enough room to put a structure on it. At least I will be able to park the truck & camper on the side of the house to I can get my car in the garage. I will also be able to unload the camper from the truck & use the truck for hauling.
Thanks for all the pics, I had them on the flash drive & the guy at city hall was familiar with Carolina buildings. He said he was real sorry he had to give me the bad news. He was very nice to do business with even though I couldn't do what I wanted.
Kind of wished I lived in the country now.

Thanks again,

Big Rig
