I just ordered in 3 Maxxair Vent Covers to put on my 3 Fantastic fans, so I could let the fans run even in the rain.. Yesterday I went up on top to install. And to my surprise when the cover raises on the Fantasic fan the cover is too high.. It won,t allow me to set the Maxxair Vent Cover on.. It looks like the cover opens aboud 2 inches too high to allow the cover to set down.. I am sure there are a lot of class A owners out there that have the Fantastic exhaust fans, and I am sure the Mfg. of Maxxair Vent Cover are familiar with Fantastic.. Am I missing something ?

Did you get the Maxxair II's? They're supposed to be larger, to fit the larger fans. I haven't actually seen them yet, but I'll be in the same situation, soon.

I had the same plan in mind, but expected to find the same thing. I had not yet measured but it looked like there would be a problem. There are other brands made now, but they look to be about the same height. Maybe Fantastic Fan has a way to limit the travel height or something. I have 3 of them and had hoped to cover all three. Will be watching to see what answers appear here.

You install the MaxAir vent with the cover DOWN....and when using the Fantastic Fan...you open it up UNTIL it touched the vent cover and dont run it "wide open". They all hit the cover.
Max Air makes a "jumbo biggie" cover to fit that allws you to run the fan at Maximum...but its about 2 times larger than the standard sized one. Its WAAAYYY too large for many applications.
I put the "stardard size" one over my bathroom Fantasic fan..and the JUMBO over the one in the hallway thats in the middle of the coach

My Mountain Aire came with one maxx air cover on the bath Fantistic fan and not on the galley one. The fantastic cover opens inside the Maxxair and touches the top, torques out and stops. It closes just fine. It works fine lacking the 2 inches it would open higher without the maxxair installed. I would NOT be without it and have thought about putting one on the galley Fantastic fan.
Mine is the Maxxair Fan Mate as shown in the post below with the "quick link" to the photo of the Maxxair. It touches the top but is not a problem in the 3.5 years I have used it.

Well, Maxxair does make a special cover for the Fantastic Fan - it is called a Fan/Mate:
Fan/Mate
I have heard that lots of people use the regular Maxxair covers over their Fantastic Fans however....

For your late model rig..MaxxAir fan mates are needed. I have black ones on my rig. They were not cheap.

Maxxair does make a cover for use with the Fantastic fans. Its called the Maxxair 2. Not only does it have the louvered vent in the back they also have vents angled on the side to allow enough air flow out. Last week I was at CW and was looking to pick one up, but they were out until their next shipment.
See the web link for what the Maxxair 2 looks like and the measurements.
