I've never heard of any area that has (or could) ban boondocking. Is this Walmart in the "boondocks" or in some city or town? That isn't boondocking or camping of any kind, it's parking lotting.

Please provide us with documentation on where "boondocking" has been banned.

And just an FYI with information I received from a Wal Mart manager.....
Every Wal Mart manager has been directed to allow RVer's to camp in their parking lot. The reason you can't overnight in some Wal Mart lots is that city laws prohibit doing this and not Wal Mart.

My thoughts exactly,
And I am sure they arrived late and just needed a place to sleep for a few hours.
Yea right! What a joke.
Hope I never have to be so cheap to Camp at a Walmart.
I would sell all my stuff first.

Sorry Walmart camping fans. It is a parking Lot. No place for me to stay.

Good thing some of us are so self righteous...this has been hashed over so many times it's pathetic.

I'm fairly sure the real reason that some communities ban boondocking is that camp ground owners lobby the government for said ban. You see, every night you spend in a Wall-mart or some other non-paid parking lot is a night's camping fee they miss out on.

However.. Considering where most of those camp grounds are (Way off the beaten path) as opposed to where Flying-J's and Wall Marts are located (ON said path) and the fact that when I overnight, normally, I'm fairly tired and in no mood to be navigating narrow back roads...... I'm not going to make it to the CG anyhow.

There will always be people who will abuse a privilege (long term Wal-Mart squatters).

There will always be people (anti "Camp Wal-Mart" folks) who generalize all to being equivalent to some highly visible minority (long term Wal-Mart squatters) whose actions they dislike.

People's travel habits and itinerary vary greatly:
"getting there is half the adventure"
"it's all about there, getting there is time lost"

Until everyone accepts that their fellow RVer may not travel the same way there will always be these arguments.

If the weather's temperate that is where I am every night - Walmart or Cracker Barrel.

Nobody's business either, where I am.

Self righteous?
I do not think so.
I camp in places to enjoy the scenery and peoples company.
Tents, class c, class b, class a, etc... Ilike em all.
Even Walmart campers, It just doe's not work for me.
Even when I shop there I cannot wait to get out of the parking lot.
Sorry if you are offended.

I say I don't care,.....yet here I am, on every Walmart thread that comes along. SO, while I'm participating here, I will also overnight at different Walmarts, until someone in a position of authority tells me I can't. Then, I'll just go find me another free place to overnight (on my way to where I'm going).
I've learn to cope with life's imperfections, and just have a good time.

I must say that ANY stopover that gets me to my destination quicker, is preferable. While I love seeing the sights while driving my RV, I did not buy it for the thrill of driving it. If WM is convenient and causes the fewest delays for me, I'm there!
