I think dropping the pressure on the rear air bags is a good idea and I'm going to experiment with that. Unless you are near the max. weight with full water tanks and loaded to the gills with stuff then maybe the 60psi recommendation is just too much.

Also when a person gets the shocks changed it's much easier for the mechanic if the air bags are deflated. Even then it's no piece of cake on the drivers rear because of PW added equipment.

If any Ford dealer fails to honor a warranty item because "it's a motorhome" call the regional Ford headquarters and complain. Usually they don't want to do the work, as I was told, the dealership doesn't get properly compensated for their labour costs. Maybe someone else on this forum can confirm or deny this.

If it's indeed only a car & light pickup dealer, they may not be able (or may hesitate) to handle the size & weight of an Excel (or RT 210) on their lifts. They may fear that the underside equipment may get damaged, or take extra care, when they lift it.

As far as compensation, I suspect it's a problem if RV gear has to be moved or worked around. I think the automaker would question and maybe refuse a charge beyond the 'normal' time for the job. The RV maker might not pay willingly, since the work had to be done because of a defect in the van. The customer is not gonna be happy being asked to pay for extra labor on a warranty job.

One other thing I've noticed the few times I've needed to ride in the back of our Excel TD: It's a really rough ride. We have the twin beds and, of course, they are right over the wheels. The effect is kind of like being in an old pick-up, very jarring, even trying the airbags at different pressures. I gather the sofa bed of the TS, located across the back, is better.

Wandering is a tough one to cure. From too-high tire air pressure, to worn suspension parts, to the sail-on-a-windy-lake-effect with any tall camper van ... it's tricky to isolate a Wanderer. Hang in there to anyone having issues.

You'll figure it out eventually.

On edit: I forgot to mention the reason I quoted ernie was to say *thanks* for more insight on spacers (I barely understand what they do.) And, so far, my Ford chassis is handling great, unless it's very windy.

I had a serious steering and handling problem on my 2009 PW ford TS. I had the T.S.B. 09-20-7 steering wandering corected at a ford dealer at no cost. PW Factory knows about this problem. I have since driven this winter over 12000KM and was overwhelmed by how good it handled.

The Ford dealership has it now with that info from PW.
