After reading all these posts, let's put this all into perspective. It was an unusual winter all over North America. Here, our winter was relatively mild and not a lot of snow. Last year, at this time, the snow was just starting to melt but we had a problem of where to put it last year. There was just so much of it. This year, most of our snow has already melted. However, there is a forecast for 4-6 inches on Sunday and it will all be back for another couple of weeks. Temperatures will be back to seasonal or below and not the mild ones we have been having of late. I've been saying we are bound to have another storm before the end of March.
At least, in Florida, it may have been cold but you still don't have to shovel snow, put on boots (and being a Kindergarten teacher, make sure the kids have snow pants on -- believe me, they get tired of it!). Next year, it will probably be a "normal" winter, we will freeze our *** here, shovel a pile of snow and it will be nice and warm in Florida, Texas etc. Next year, I will be a snowbird and even if the weather doesn't cooperate (warm temps), it will still be better than 6 feet of snow and freezing!

It is all relative . Not to stimulate another weather conversation , but when you are up north you expect that type of weather i.e. snow , cold . A 40 degree day up north in the winter is warm and maybe shirt sleeve weather . When one snowbirds in what is suppose to be average temps. of 70 degrees and you get 40 or 50 degrees , snowbirds are wearing jackets and sweaters . I know all about "this winter" not being average through out the country . What I'm trying to say is ,to be open to the possibility, that while you snowbird , you may not have snow but do not think you may not be cold .

I've never had a "shirt sleeve 40*" day IN MY LIFE. I've always been cold natured and hated it when the temps were below 50* even when I was a kid. Now that I'm "old", I hate the cold even more, and I'm going to do everything I can to stay in my comfort range, and that's 65*+.

I think this NOAA site pretty much sums it up. If this was your first winter in Florida, sorry as it's been colder, windeyer, & wetter than it's been in decades. Even in SE FL it's been cold and it can be 10-20 degrees colder in norther Florida. Jan & Feb were the second coldest on record in WPB where we often have to run the AC of a couple hours in the afternoon as the front of our MH faces south. I have a big market umbrella that I normally put over the front, but not this year and no need to run the AC. Still better than N Ga where it's been much colder and wetter than normal with lots of(by southern standards) snow. Not sure I can take much more of this global warming.
This post is my opinion (free advice). It is not intended to influence anyone's judgment nor do I advocate anyone do what I propose.
