Wind always blows in south Texas but this has been one of the all time coolest. More rain than usual and the rains were counted in 1/2 inches rather than the normal tenths of an inch. Most south Texans do not complain about the rain as it is their lifeline. After a decade of drought and lakes drying up it is nice to have the rain. As a sign on a local park says "You don't have to shovel rain!"

Don't give it up. Just remember that this winter was so unusual that all other winters snowbirding are almost certain to be warmer and better.

This is our second year in Florida and it has not been very warm. All we can do is hope next winter is warmer. Today it was 82 degrees.

We've been coming to FL for 11 years - trust me- this winter was not in the least bit normal.

Today must be the day.
Just saw a large flock of larger birds flying in a cluster, and RV's are pulling out of the park ever half hour or so now. The sun must be high enough, telling all us animals it's time to migrate again.

Since I never bothered to change the time on our laptop from EST to Mountain time when we got to Arizona, the laptop just flipped from a 2 hour time difference to a 3 hour time difference with what it is here near Phoenix. ... It must be daylight saving time at home. That's a sure sign of spring!
People are beginning to pull out of here every day too. We're gonna miss our friends that ae heading back to Iowa tomorrow.

Next time, go further west! We ended up all the way in southern CA but it was worth it. El Centro was nice, so was Desert Hot Springs which is further north. This was our first snowbirding venture also. I am SO glad we did not plan on FL, it was just luck that we decided to go west instead.

It's our first year snowbirding also. It turned out to be alot better then we expected. We decided to come to AZ.(been here a month) we had a total of 2 half days of rain. otherwise all sun. I dont think I've ever experienced so much sun. We had a hard time adjusting to the beautiful weather. And can't believe the friendly people. And we're having a hard time heading back north. So I guess we'll wait it out

Boy we are seeing trailer after trailer going into storage. Florida really is still cool. I checked TX and where we stayed there it is in the 80's.
Next year we will try again but maybe reduce our exposure to Fl.

It's always the same, glad to move south in the fall, then glad to go back north in the spring. Its why snowbirding is so popular.
