This is our first time as snowbirds and after this winter we are looking to go home!
Mission TX was fun and good although the winds did suck.
Gulf shores had great food but it was really cold in January
Florida from the 2nd week of January till now has not shown us much.
Michigan is starting to have 50 degree days and the perennials should be popping soon.
I don't know how you feel but this snowbird thing wasn't as advertised this year and we we will be glad to go home!

We live way past your area in Michigan and cannot get in to our house. We are "snowed out" It will be about another month before we leave.

This was a terrible year to begin snowbirding! Not a typical winter at all. Hang in there......they will usually be better! However, as much as we like spending the winters down south, we honestly look forward to coming home too. Just keep one thing in mind: you wanted to avoid the snow and freezing temps, and even as cold as this winter was down south, you did!

We still have a lot of snow on the ground and the rains will be starting this week. We'll be having the late winter/early spring flooding next. Stay down south at least another month.

Most years we stay in FL till mid April, Not this year, Been a bad year and tired of waiting for it to warm up. It always snows after we get home anyway so getting home a few weeks early will not matter.

I agree. If this was my first winter snowbirding I would feel the same. I would probably never do it again. I remember one winter where I wore shorts and a t-shirt the whole time and it only rained ONCE the whole winter. If it was too hot I moved to the shade, too cold and moved into the sun.
I just BBQed a steak in Ft DeSoto and I had to put on my sweats and put the BBQ on a small table in the lee of my 5er. Every morning I check the weather on LI and where I am in FL. Sometimes it's only 5 degrees difference. One time it was 3 degrees. I keep printing out the 10 day forecast and tell my wife that next week it will be warmer. I've done this about 5 times now. I don't know why but she doesn't believe me any more.

Hi I thought this 'Global Warming thing" was suppose to make the temperatures hotter. I'm tired of the cold wet weather and can't wait until spring....

I'm here in Florida too. Yes this winter was the worst since 1958 so they say on the TV news. So like the 100 year water marks I'd venture to say Florida will not have a winter like this for about another 50 years.
Yup it was cold but 40' and 30's with a warm sun in the morning STILL trumps real temps below zero and snow, snow, snow, snow and then repeat that process over and over again for 5 months!!
It's going to be in the 80's this week. Bet we can't say that about our states back up North now can we?

Every year is a new adventure. Three years ago, after surviving the winds of the RGV, we returned to Florida the following year for some good old shorts & T-shirt weather.
This year's colder weather resulted in my discovery of the local Moose Lodge's need for a Wednesday night volunteer, and Lee County's need for volunteers for the Florida Senior Games and other activities.
A side benefit was that we also earned a day at Disney for some of our volunteer work. What with volunteering and most of our other usual snowbird activities, the season went by too quickly. Mid-May will be here before we know it. Then -- we'll head north. I can't wait to see what next year will bring. Florida is like that!
