Believe me I've poured over the Heartland Owners forum and yes there is negative stuff on there. There's negative stuff on every manufacturer's forum I have visited, at least those that allow negative posts.

Overall there's a bunch of really happy folks over there!

The great thing is that the Heartland folks could delete the negative but they do not and in most cases the issues are corrected and that is service.

We own the 2009 Sundance. Yes, it has had it problems as do every model and brand anyone on here discusses. We pulled it to Alaska and back last year a total of 10,000 miles round trip.
Would I buy another one? Well I have been looking at the new 2011 Sundances online tonight. I haven't even looked at anything else. More for your money...
Go for it!!

K.Kamper do you work for Heartland in every post you don't like anyone talking bad about Heartland. I think read my post wrong I was saying that a good dealer will take care of you. So far Heartland has done nothing for me. The dealer we have is great so I will not even bother talking to anyone from Heartland.

No Larry...I do not work for Heartland. I have no problem with anyone discussing their problems with their Heartland unit...I've discussed mine before. Just giving my experience in dealing with Heartland, and that of many other owners I've talked to.

You're right a good dealer will take care of you, however, good dealers are few and far between. Most dealers couldn't tell the truth on a bet. Glad to hear you've had good luck with your dealer, most don't!

Not sure what you have wanted Heartland to do for you, but the majority of owners have had an exceptional response in dealing with Heartland Customer Service...sorry it hasn't worked for you.

Gentlemen let's not get into a pissing match, we are each entitled to our opinion. Personally I have owned my Heartland for 27 months and yes I have had a couple of issues and Heartland has taken care of both of them post hast without question. The last problem was after my warranty was out and my dealer had gone out of business. DW called Heartland and told them the problem, Heartland recommended an other dealer ( not a Heartland dealer ) ship the part to us and told us to take it to the new dealer and have them contact Heartland. Heartland paid the entire bill and that was the last we heard from them.

Would I buy another Heartland? In a HEARTBEAT. No better company when it comes to after the sale service.

Good luck with your choice and I suggest you checkout the Heartland owners forum.

Enjoy the Road

I purchased a 2010 big country in september 09-have had some issues. 1. a noisey furnance which was repaired quickly by a mobile rv tech, they covered the cost with no problems. 2. Had a valve burst in the hot water tank. Replaced it by an Mobile rv tech and they covered the cost without an issue. 3. Today had a suburban water tank bust ( a 4 inch slit in a steel tank)4. I called Heartland they indicated I had to deal directly with suburban, a mobile rv tech is ordering a new unit.5. a bulging tank which was corrected by a mobile tech and Heartland covered the cost. I would say my experience with Heartland service people has been positive. I think you need a good relationship with factory during the warranty term and use a good mobile tech for repairs. When you are out of the area you can't count on the dealer for repairs.

I notice your problems were Water Heater, Furnace and water tank. These are peripheral equipment that are used on most RVs. And Heartland stood behind all, what else could you ask for that any other manufacturer would do better?
