I spent some time at the 40th Annual RV Show at the NY State Fairgrounds. Only Roadtrek and Winnebago were there (B's) but I enjoyed speaking with the rep from Winnebago and the owner of our local Roadtrek dealer. I was disappointed that there was not an IDEAL to inspect. The Winnebago ERA was a bit cheaper ($74,000 + show price) but the Roadtrek looked very well built. They had the AGILE and the ADVENTUROUS on display.

We went to the show here in Greensboro, NC a few weeks ago and there was not a Roadtrek to be found. We looked and asked but never came across them.

I did see an "Ideal" at a recent show at Salem, Oregon. Anyone shopping for a "B", should look at this one. I really thought that I had found my new RoadTrek until I saw that the Ideal is not full length like the Adventurous. I like the floor plan especially the placement of the fridge and the microwave. I did not get to see the interior with the slide and doors all closed up. Maybe this weekend at the show in Portland. The Ideal should appeal to people that need to park in a small space at home and on the road.

The RT dealer here in Virginia had 7 Roadies on display at the Richmond show in February.

2 190P's, one with enclosed shower, & one without. 2 210's-a Popular and a Versatile. 3 Sprinter based units. The Adventerous, the SS-Agile, and the SS-Ideal.

I guess I went to the wrong RV Show. I really am hoping to see an IDEAL up close and personal.

If the specs on their (RT) website is correct one of the reasons for higher chassis cost on the Adventurous is the switch to the 3500 sprinter chassis.

The Roadtrek dealer here (Seven O's) is bringing something to B7 but at this point he does not have one. Hopefully by May he will. Bruce

I actually liked it. The bed, for obvious reasons, isn't as wide as a bed in a 210 or Adventerous, but it still seemed to be large enough.

But if I had been buying at the show, I would have gotten the Adventerous, instead of the SS Ideal, simply because of cost. There was only 2k difference. For 2K, I would have opted for the larger Adventerous.

In the near future, I think the price difference will be greater. The manager of the RV store that had the Roadies, said new RT built on later model chassises, would have a 5K price jump just because of an increase in chassis price.

I think the Ideal was built on a later chassis.

The Adventerous, even though a 2010 RT, was built on an older 2008 chassis.

We saw the Ideal at a downstate NY RV show, but the RT dealer was from PA. What RT dealer was at the show that you were at in NY?

I found that the Ideal rocked a heck of a lot when walking around inside with the back extended.

As to what Atlee said about the prices to come - now that the Sprinter is being sold only by Mercedes and no longer by Dodge - it surely will cost more for the chassis.
