Welcome to the forum and welcome to the US.
It looks like you have an exciting trip ahead of you.
I cannot tell you where to stay in New York, but I can recommend stopping along the way between Key West and Niagra Falls and enjoy the beautiful country we have to offer.
In fact, when you get to North Carolina, drop me a PM and I'll buy you a cigar at Exit 97 on I-95.

If you mean New York City, the only place to park and stay would be Liberty Harbor RV It is very easy to visit the city from there, but it's not a real campground.

The easiest way to visit New York in an RV is to stay in a campground, possibly on the Hudson river north of the city. From there you can take a train into the city easily and will not have to worry about the traffic problem. You should have an RV campground book with you, they are available from RV dealer and repair places as well as Camping World and better bookstores.
Good luck and have a good time.

I'm wondering if there is a branch of RV Net that would be more helpful for our visitor than the Class B branch. Of course, there are his fellow travelers and campers on the East Coast who probably know the places best.
Have a great trip Mr Ricardo!!

I second Liberty Harbor Rv...... It's a real good safe spot with a Million Dollar View.... I used to live out that way.

Hello,
Actually I'm not sure how to best answer this question because in the area of New York City there are no sections that accommodate RV's
As others here have said, better to look for a place out of the city and use Public transportation to visit. You can use Metro North. The MTA subway travels round the entire city or by bus such as Gray hound or the Red & Tan bus lines just outside NYC can bring you into downtown without a problem.
all this and more can be obtained via the Internet if you need more information.
You can also contact a company called AAA which is for persons using a car. The information can be obtained also by using the Internet or by phone
www.AAA.com
(In NY State the numbers are) 212/757-2000; 718/224-2222; 516/746-7141; 914/948-4600; 315/797-5000; 607/432-1875
If the type of RV is the small, you will have a better chance to find accommodations.
Another group called Good Sam can also help with information as they are for people who drive RV's

Good Luck on your visit to our Great Country, here is hoping you enjoy yourselves very much and take back fantastic memories you can think back on with fondness and a warm heart.

Hola,
